The Walk to Remember is a special event designed for those whose lives have been effected by suicide. Envision Partnerships along with the Butler County Suicide Prevention Coalition held the second annual Walk to Remember early this fall at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park. This year’s walk looked a little different, with a virtual and in-person option on September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day.
In-person participants lined up on the route with the “Ribbon of Hope” and walked the candlelight route, while others experienced it from their car, or live on Facebook! The event featured a speaker, information booths, and many means of encouragement for those who are healing from a suicide of a loved one or who have been touched by suicide in any way including surviving an attempt. The theme of the walk was hope as participants make connections with others.
The free event was set up for physical distancing at all times and participants received a face mask with the Butler County Suicide Coalition logo. Participants showed support in person at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park or online for this special event.
