Every year police departments around the county open up drug take-back sites where you can safely dispose of unwanted medication. It is important to remove unwanted or expired medication from your home to prevent it from being taken accidentally or misused by another member of the household, guests, or pets. Disposing of unwanted medication by throwing it away with your personal trash or by flushing down the drain can be both harmful to the environment and potentially put animals and other humans at risk.
